World War II Re-enactment at Midway Village, Rockford, IL

27 September 2008

bulletBravo Zulu to our New Uniformed Instructor Ms. Koehnke!
bulletThe Aurora Division Sea Cadets took a time machine back to World War II to see military encampments of the European theatre including Polish, British, Russian, Canadian, and of course German and American troops and equipment.
bulletThe day was highlighted by an unbelievably detailed and realistic battle between the Germans and Americans featuring a full set of trucks and tanks for each side along with dozens of troops mock-fighting it out for each side as spotters in real army scout planes flew overhead. Nurses and medics participated in the battle as well, showing that freedom and warfare come with a price.
